It’s been one year. It’s been one year since I met one of my best friends irl for the first time. It’s been one year since I spent a week with the best friend with cute hair. It’s been one year since the Circle. The ever expanding circle of indroductions, Never have I ever, and starkid singalongs. The Circle where I met the most beautiful and hysterical group of people I’ve ever encountered. These were the people I loitered the convention center hours before the con even started, and hours after it ended, even when everyone else left (which of course now seems only fitting). But really the week started off with “Hey I like your hair” and ended with everyone sitting on the floor eating gross red vines making up code names for when people we admired walked by. It’s been one year since I scared Ellie’s family forever and touched her face. It’s been one year since we all saw Joey Richter walking through the empty convention center in nothing but swim trunks.
Even though it’s been one year since I’ve been with the most amazing people I’ve ever met in my life, it’s not too bad. There’s this thing with the way us wizards party, even though it’s been a year this night has and never really will end.
